Biography

Delilah Gutman was born in 1978, in Madrid (Spain). Italo-American, she lives and works in Milan and in Rimini, where she founded the Cultural Association “D.G.M.A., Delilah Gutman Music Academy”, founded in 2007. D.G.M.A is a Cultural Association for the research and implementation of new methods in music teaching: with courses like “MusicaLila”, “ColoraLila”, "PremaMusic". D.G.M.A is active in the organization and performance of music festivals as well - Silenzio Musica 2008, Festival, Competition, Summer Academy.

She studied at the renowned Conservatory "G.Verdi" in Milan, Italy, where she graduated, with top grades, in Composition with M.°Alessandro Solbiati, Electronic Composition with M.°Riccardo Sinigaglia and in Piano with M°Lidia Baldecchi Arcuri.
She always classified herself in the top three positions of piano competitions - International Music Competition, Premio Vittoria Caffa Rigetti, Concorso Internazionale del Comune di Cortemilia, Concorso Pianistico Nazionale “Città di Gallarate”, Concorso Nazionale per Giovani Pianisti, Comune di Pisa, Concorso Nazionale di Esecuzione Musicale “Franz Schubert”.
She has been continuing advanced piano studies with M° Lidia Baldecchi Arcuri. She studied with M.° Bruno Zanolini and with M.°Niccolò Castiglioni, whose teachings and profound friendship were fundamental to her musical maturity. . Successfully, she completed the following master-classes held by M.° György Ligeti, by Salvatore Sciarrino and by M.°Luca Francesconi - with a scholarship awarded by the Dragoni Foundation in Milan.
At the present, she has been continuing her education for the Master in Music at the Conservatory "G.Rossini" of Pesaro with the major in Theatre Composition under the M° F.M. Caramazza.

As a pianist, she is active both as soloist in recitals and as pianist in chamber concerts in Italy and abroad. Her music initiatives and her concerts – like her tournée in Mexico, her performances as soloist at the International Festivals of Taormina and her recital in Spoleto - were reviewed by the international and national press.

As a composer she started very young and at the age of fourteen her piece for quintet “Chiacchierio” was performed in Sala Puccini, Conservatory G. Verdi in Milan. Her compositions – for strumento solo, ensembles, orchestra and electronics – are performed all over Italy and abroad - Roma, Milano, Rimini, Napoli, Cremona, Imperia, Mantova, Palermo, Monza, Firenze, Pesaro, Catania, Messina, Trapani, Giulianova, Torino and others, and in Switzerland, Germany and Mexico.

She collaborates of the Cultural Association M.A.R.E. which has recently also produced such important events like the international exhibitions of the masters Andy Warhol and of Amedeo Modigliani. Among the most significant humanitarian missions, it has provided assistance in India Tamil Nadu and in Kashmir.

She has been collaborating with the Institut Archives Légales Amedeo Modigliani Paris-Rome also sponsor of the opera “Dedo".
Musical Portraits and Musical Letters are some of the projectsshe has been working at through the composition of musical “portraits” and “letters”.

She frequently participates both as a pianist and as a composer in national radio broadcast programs: Radiotre R.A.I, Radio Popolare and Radio San Marino, television programs R.A.I.3 TV, San Marino RTV and local TV of the Provincia di Napoli; abroad, radio and television in Mexico, Germany and Switzerland.

She has been composing and assembling musical and sound performances in collaboration with poets, writers and visual artists: the poets Manrico Murzi and Salvatore Ritrovato, the writers Roberto Piumini e Guido Quarzo, Moni Ovadia, the artists Mark Kostabi and Enzo Cucchi.She composed for Art exhibitions and Art-video Music.

She has been composing music for children tales: “il Folletto Brambilla” e “la Battaglia delle Stoviglie” on text by R. Piumini; the Musicians of Brema” on text by Brothers Grimm recorded by Orchestra ”Accademia Musicale di Palermo”.

She has been collaborating with School Institutions in music activities, writing new repertoires for chamber orchestra and orchestral trainings for Junior High School Students.
