Probably their second best. Phenomenal album. Full of bangers yet also experimental moody weirdness. What other band has hits like Never Let Me Down Again, Strangelove and Behind the Wheel next to Little 15, I Want You Now and Pimpf? Also, Sacred is really underappreciated, a top 10 DM track. The contrasts are why I love this group.

Didn't like this album for years ("Never Let Me Down Again" was the exception, as I adore the hell out of that song) until somehow a few weeks ago everything clicked and now I like nearly everything on it. How the hell did I not like "Behind the Wheel" before? Jesus Christ, I don't understand my taste sometimes.

the production is so great, jesus. it's so ahead of their time, seriously. i think in 87 synthpop was still sounding kinda cheesy and the music here is everything but cheesy

Violator and this one are their best work, and two of the best records of all time for sure.

I think prefer Black Celebration over it, I think it is more dancy, you know, but that's a great album. I even have it on vinyl, but A side is better than B. Nothing is the best track on B side.

Is there a better DM album than this? IMO: 1. Music For The Masses 2. Violator 3. Black Celebration 4. Speak & Spell (yes, you read that right!). 5. Songs Of Faith & Devotion.
