Biography
Combining the textured layers of shoegaze with the ringing guitar hooks of '80s indie pop, Distant Creatures became a popular fixture on their local Washington DC scene. Formed in 2015 by guitarists Chris and Dane inspired by classic British shoegaze and a love for indie rock of the '80s and '90s. Joined by a rhythm section of Ben and Mike, the band took off are recruiting vocalist Mina. In 2016 the band released their debut single "Escape" through AGR / Custom Made Music. A year later the band retreated to rural Virginia to record their full length Snares in Safe Harbors featuring the singles "A Friend's Halo" and "Unsure". In 2019 Carlos replaced Mike on bass during sessions for sophomore album Whorl. The band parted ways at the end of the year.
