Biography
Having already performed with artists such as ATL newcomer YC,
Rocko, and David Banner and having collaborated with a majority of the
local rappers in Jackson, MS, Doe Hicks, 25, is known for his high-energy
performances having performed at just about every local club in Jackson,
MS. As he anticipates extending his fanbase to surrounding states and
performing on television Jackson native Donnie "Doe" Hicks says he wants
to put the capital city on the map for rap geniuses. Doe Hicks (born Donnie
Hicks) has always had big dreams of becoming a famous musician. Born and
raised in Jackson, MS, music has always been a part of Hicks life. During
his high school years is where he first found his passion for music. As his
passion for music began to grow stronger he set his goal on becoming a
voice in the music industry. While Hicks has been rapping since he was
15, his professional career only started within the past year. Living by the
motto "work hard, pray harder," Doe Hicks has already released four mix
tapes, with another, "Streets or Beats," due out later this year. For Hicks it
was either gonna be the streets or the beats. "I hope rapping works out so I
can stay out of the streets." "Everybody loves my music," Hicks says. "The
whole club sings with me." With his single "No Booty Pads" in rotation on
both of Jackson’s Hip-Hop Radio Stations WJMI-FM 99.7 and WRBJ-FM
97.7 and his upcoming mixtape “Streets Or Beats”, slated to be released later
this year Doe Hicks remains focused. "I'm hoping that God will bless me
with something, so I can let the world see what I do”.
