Biography
Having grown up with a musician, it was no surprise that Dorie decided to follow in her fathers footsteps and try a career in music.
Dorie started her professional singing career as a backing vocalist for Francis Dunnery. They soon formed a firm friendship and began writing together. In the interim, Francis introduced Dorie to many great musicians and writers, one of which was Chris Difford. Francis was producing Chris' first solo record I Didn't Get Where I Am and he brought Dorie in to do backing vocals. .
Chris and Dorie still continue to tour with pedal steel player Melvin Duffy and Dorie has since recorded two subsequent albums, South East Side Story and The Last Temptation of Chris.
Dorie has also toured and recorded with other great artists including William Topley, Marti Pellow and John and Wayne.
During the last six years, Dorie and Francis Dunnery have been writing together. They finally started recording three years ago, resulting in Dorie's debut solo album, The Courting Ground. The album is about all the things a girl goes through, such as unrequited love, body image issues, and meeting the one.
