Biography
Dorothea Paas is a Canadian songwriter, musician and singer based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When asked to define her genre, Paas riffs out a series of possible styles - "avant easy," "slightly busted baroque pop", "choral freak folk" and "search rock" among them - that hints at the diverse range of influences permeating her work. She cites artists like Judee Sill, Linda Perhacs, The Free Design, Burt Bacharach, Steven Sondheim and Hiroshi Yoshimura as inspirations, but she wears these influences lightly. Three full-length albums thus far: No Loose Ends (2016), Anything Can't Happen (2021) and Think of Mist (2024).
