Biography
Born "Charles Douglas Newman IV," Dougie Rimes didn't start out listening to Rap, R&B or Hip-Hop. It was actually prohibited in his household. As he matured early in his high school years he found a love for football and baseball, where he won a baseball state championship and was one of South Carolina's top rated football prospects. After visiting many college's he decided to go to the University of South Carolina to play football. He also recorded the fastest 40-yard dash time during recruiting day for his position. After a mishap with his transcripts at his former high school he was force to return for one last semester to retake a course, killing any chance he had at a D-1 Collegiate university. Rimes commented, "Things like this happen and all you can do is look forward and don't dwell on the past. Regardless of what happens next in life I'm going to accept what god gives me and go from there." Upon graduation he was forced to live at home pending temporary financial problems. With a little free time and a mic, he started to write lyrics down on paper whenever inspired. Now at the age of 20 he's released his first mix-tape in August of 2009 (Mixtape Mufasa) and two more since then in 2010 (A Hip-Hop Love Story Ep & Salute Your General) with a third expected to be released June 29, 2012. (Guardian of Hip-Hop) With recent success of single "Love You Down" featuring independent R&B singer Quis, and R&B song "Sex," he is more motivated then ever to drop his debut album.
