I never got the hype around Drake, I can count the number of his songs I like on one hand, and half of those are features, so it's no great loss

I love Nicki very much, but no. Big Foot is worse than the Ben Shapiro shot dropped the same day. None of the songs associated with this beef could be accused of being as lazy as Big Foot. She genuinely sounded like she was half awake.

If you mean Facts, that dropped like 2 days before Big Foot. Nicki didn't sound half awake on Big Foot, that wasn't the problem with that song. The problem is that it's musically awful and un-listenable, she sounds deranged and coked-up, she makes fun of Megan for her dead mother and for getting shot in the foot, and criticises her at an ethical perspective, which she can't do when her husband and brother are rapists. The 90 second monologue at the end makes my skin crawl, but definitely not because it sounds lazy. Lazy is The Heart Part 6.

I think it's a reference to the Millie Bobbie Brown shit, maybe a couple others but that's all been documented for a minute

I've seen plenty of people calling him a pedophile for years based on p much that alone so take that what u will

SpidrDuck666
The stuff Kendrick was saying was a long the lines of sex trafficking, I'm not really sure how it could be alluding to Millie.

I guess I hadn't read into the lyrics that deep yet. Yes that would be quite bad if true lol

That shit lame, anyway. All clown Drake did was attempt to save face, while Kenny straight up murdered him in every bar of every track.

he found the angle online that would be the most favorable if it were true and said He gonna ride that until the L is fully and officially solidified and that will be his chosen cope whenever anyone ever brings it up

It's not even subtle, dude said "The ones that you’re gettin’ your stories from, they all clowns" and then says that he fabricated the info. The only diss track I know that's weaker than this is Big Foot

basically saying “If I was a pedophile I’d be in jail by now” is possibly the worst thing you could say in this situation other than “17 is legal pops” lmao

Drake said that he apparently expected the Epstein angle like a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure villain. This man is a living cartoon. This isn't even going into how he shamed Kendrick for apparently being molested (although he vehemently said he wasn't on "Mother I Sober," which makes me question Drake's listening comprehension skills). What does this mean for other molestation and sexual assault survivors? Is this something we should be making fun of? We can't normalize shaming survivors of molestation and sexual assault. This also isn't going into how Drake made fun of slavery, which is pretty racist and insensitive especially since he's half Black and he claims the n-word and Black culture (I'm part Black too but I wasn't socialized as Black so I don't say it). We can't normalize racism either. I'm tired of having all of these thoughts pent up in my mind. These trades of disses are like car crashes: I hate to look at them from a moral standpoint, but I'm infatuated by the macabre.

you "normalization" type mfs truly need to stay away from hip-hop in general But yes drake was lame as hell for trying to take molestation as an angle

That's a valid point honestly. Drake is not the first to pull this type of stuff, but it's 2024. There is a whole bunch of normalization of terrible things in rap as well as many other genres, but we can still criticize it and there are artists who are conscious about the impact of their words and message. There are countless things I can call out many of the rap songs I've heard, but then I'll sound like the ESRB and be redundant. I trust in others' ability to treat the negative examples like cautionary tales instead of something to look up to because we're all flawed human beings and we can all learn from each other whether it's through positive or negative example. I still like hip-hop, but I can also acknowledge the problems that many rappers perpetuate even today. It's about critical thinking, not passive indoctrination, but not everyone is willing to look at art that deeply because sometimes they just want to enjoy something (if that makes sense). Sorry for the ramble.

"admitting Kendrick loses 50% of his revenue is absurd" yet Kendrick had the confidence to offer to go contract for contract to see who's really splitting more lmao

For me it was like 2009 when one of his early mixtapes was popping off on DatPiff and MixtapeTorrents, which were two websites I used to frequent. I checked it out and it sounded like trash to me. But to my surprise he went on to become one of the biggest names in hip-hop.
