I see very few people praising how brilliant Myung's bass lines are on this song. That man is a genius and a very underestimated one.

Why is everybody discussing religion in the shoutbox? Can we just acknowledge what an incredible song this is? From that rad, heavy main riff, to that perfectly syncronized keyboard/guitar solo. Damn idiots focussing on bullshit and not the actual song.

I honestly only recently learned that this was about the Branch Davidian siege at Waco. I always assumed it was a response to 9/11 or to terrorism in general. It is a pretty universal theme, though. As an aside, it is kinda irritating how shoutboxes like this often turn into religious or political arguments. Most of band members of Dream Theater are Christian or Jewish, but, as evinced by lyrics like this from Petrucci and "Blind Faith" from LaBrie, they're also capable of being critical of religious fanaticism. I personally don't have any religious beliefs, nor any particular interest in arguing about religion in general. As long as people don't persecute others because of their religious beliefs, those beliefs really don't directly affect my life in any way, and they're frankly none of my business.

but also the other way around, most religious people before they convert to the faith have done a lot of messed up stuff, violent crimes and to atone they join Christianity or some other religion.

@maxson924 My problem with it would be it's complete lack of any relation to the rest of the song. It's like a sudden, masturbatory seizure. Not entirely unusually. Also, they almost managed to actually write a memorable and heavy riff in this song. SO CLOSE.

People who rant and rave about their lack of faith in a higher power are just as bad as those who rant and rave about their total faith in a higher power. [2] Anyway, I've always loved this song. The ending of this track is still one of the most epic and memorable moments when it comes to DT. At least for me.

people are retarded, for the few of you who are smart enough to leave religion out of things like this, or even to know what the song you're listening to is about in the first place, i congratulate you for not being ignorant bigots.
