A 3 piece band playing high energy mix of punk ,ska and reggae, from dublin…. THE DUBTONES began in 1999 formed by whelo and longo and two former band mates hughie and gipo from now defunct stigmatamartyr. Lasting barely 14 months and a handfull of gigs the band split but recorded the 14 track "whole new nation demos" but was never released…October 2004 the reformed DUBTONES shaped up with WHELO lead vox & gtr, GIPO bass & vox, NOEL,lead guitar, and new sticksman SWAMPY. Their first gig was 3 weeks later and have played mostly support slots to the bigger well known PUNK and SKA acts across these waters over the last 20 months. In january 2006 they recorded their first record a six track e.p. entitled "ONE FOR THE ROAD" a caustic mix of explosive punk, ska, and roots reggae, 2010 saw the band slim down to a 3 piece and the release of the dubtones first full length album entitled " END OF TRANSMISSION" the band are currently gigging and recording…. ,www.myspace.com/dubtonesireland
