I'd call him the most underrated singer/song-writer of the last 20 years. Very few people have any idea how great this guy actually is!

While reading the post history here I didn't see a formal query asking anyone to rank his albums, though if I were to choose my own ranking it'd be: 1. Humming 2. Duncan Sheik 3. Daylight 4. White Limousine 5. Phantom Moon. I haven't heard Whisper House or Covers 80's, and I've only heard a portion of Spring Awakening, and I didn't think that would count as an unambiguous Duncan Sheik album anyway (I was thinking the same thing about Covers 80's actually, though as I stated I haven't heard that anyway).

I am totally surprise the people have low love for White Limousine, lots of highlights tacks in the album "The Down Request", " Fantastic Toys And Corduroys" "I Wouldnt Mind" for remember someones

Happy to hear he's doing well! He posted a new song called What Really Matters, very heartfelt. I dig it a lot!!!

I love how his songs range from infectiously catchy to some stuff that's just really weird, slow and tripped out. He writes great melodies and is so gifted with all kinds of interesting arrangements (tons of string sections, woodwinds) All of his albums are superb sonically too. Definitely one of my favorite artists and songwriters. I'm very excited to hear the new Covers 80s... "Stripped" the first song is killer!!!

a pain in the ass for an artist like him to be remembered with "barely breathing". i'm quite sure he wished he had never written that particular song

'Phantom Moon' is definitely my favorite album of his. A timeless record, like Nick Drake or John Cale's 'Paris 1919'.

Check out his work on Holly Brook's new EP. I'm really speechless and impressed with how great it is. I love her contributions all over Whisper House... I'm not too fond on many female vocalists other than Paula Cole but Holly's GREAT!

my love of his music started with Barely breathing but when i decided to check out his music more, it opened up a world of melodies and lyrics I had just not experienced. Serena to me is the perfect fit of mood, melody and lyrics....

He's seriously awesome, just really tasteful music. Phenomenal musician and so are the musicians he plays with, brilliant arranging... all these records sound freaking great. Everything is so well thought-out. Just marvelous

I'm comforted when I LISTEN to him, thought that's what music was... like something to do with sound and instruments but maybe I've got it all wrong!

It's SHEEEK... Duncan is a perennial badass songwriter with melodies and lyrics like no other.

The production of his records are so organic and just perfect. I've heard acoustic-pop/songwriters who just intentionally have to have their records sound like crap to be cool. Or the ones who want hit songs so they overproduce the hell out of them.

I saw a live DVD on eBay... I'm pretty interested. Humming may be my favorite record too... (at least right now)

Disagree, it made the album better because it's a play and for 1 person to sing all the songs is boring to the audience and Holly Brook's a hell of a singer! Whisper House is one of the best from 2009
