Biography
There are at least three bands named Eien.
1) An American electronica artist
2) Extreme Metal From Finland since 2004
3) Metalcore band from Jakarta (Indonesia). Band was formed in 2013.
1) eien was formed in 2003. The music of Eien is an experience of emotion, a sliver of introspection, and captured contemplation transcribed into audio for the listener. Andrew Mays, working almost exclusively with electronic instruments, creates the sound of Eien through free improvisation, meditation, and chance. "This is an escape from the realities of my daily life," Mays explains. "I try to shake off the trappings of logical, linear thought while making music. Allowing myself a different perspective on my experiences, my emotions, and my beliefs through the compositional process." Pronounced as if speaking the letter names "A" and "N", eien is a Japanese word meaning eternity or permanence.
2) Eien plays melancholic, melodic, touching metal with tasteful playing. It all began in 2004 autumn with strong feeling to start a band. Christianity stands strong in all activity of Eien and even it was meant to be an one EP project they releassed a new song in 2013.
