Elegant Machinery is the best choice when you want to listen some "depeche-ish" music.... it never gets you that high than the Basildon Fellows, but also never lets you down...

Not bad! But... there is sense, that I've listened it again and again... in another words: good old songs, but very crocked.

I have no problem remaining apolitical. Just stating what I see and hear over here in Sweden, and from my objective eyes the left wing are by far the worst when it comes to verbally and sometimes physically attacking people. I don't take any political stand in saying that, it's just what I've observed over the years. When it comes to politics (and not the actions from political people, mind you) I couldn't care less. I don't vote. Richard can do whatever he wants outside of EM for all I care. All I know is that I like music and EM has never had anything to do with politics. That's why I'm fed up with people mixing that shit into it.

@Eighties, "I'm so tired of fanatic people and their fingerpointing (mostly the ones from the left/extreme left)" You don't find this statement to be the least bit contradicting? You cannot remain apolitical and show animosity to only one side of the spectrum in the same breath, it sort of sounds oxymoronic or something to me, just sayin', not trying to argue about politics just found the statement a little confusing.

v I am not big on politics either. I still think the music's great, but it is a bit unnerving knowing that Richard is associated with a group that has a history of racism.

Politics is sooo boring. :/ I live in Sweden and I'm so tired of fanatic people and their fingerpointing (mostly the ones from the left/extreme left). EM has always been a nonpolitical band but some people in Sweden tries to make it political because of Richard. Anyway, they have split up in the past too but I don't know what caused it this time.

@karl_den_nollte: I've heard the other two members don't share the same political views as Richard. What are their political views, though?

I have removed EM from my library and I will never listen to them again. I won't have anything to do with Richard Jomshof as long as he is part of the racist nationalist party Sverigedemokraterna.

I have recently discovered them to my embarrassment but will surely spent time to do more research and tributes on my blog. www.eightiesmusicfan.co.cc.

I heard on P3 that they had Ethnocentric members. I suspect that could bring some passion. I hope the person reflects, and evolve. Och, Jag sjöng rätt mycket fel...

My BF thinks it sounds like Erasure, but I say it's Depeche Mode-ish. But nice anyway!

They sound just like old-school synthpop, which is refreshing compared to most futurepop acts out there. Great stuff. [2]

I have listened to EM as long as I can remember. I always loved their music. So when I heard about their reunion album "A Soft Exchange" after 9 years of being broken up, I approached it with trepidation. I have been let down by old favorite bands many times when they release new music. I finally picked up this album this week. it is fantastic. Get it. If you like the old EM, this is like it, but in many ways better. I can't stop listening to it!
