Emma Heesters is a Dutch singer and YouTuber. She began posting covers on YouTube in 2014. She not only covers popular English music, but also songs in Hindi and Bahasa, which proved very popular in India and Indonesia. As of November 2023, she has over 5.88 million subscribers on YouTube.
In 2019, Heesters appeared on the Dutch tv-series Beste Zangers where she covered “Pa Olvidarte” by ChocQuibTown with Dominican-Dutch singer Rolf Sanchez. The single became a breakout hit, peaking at #2 on the official Dutch Top 40. It ranked as one of the biggest hits of the 2010s.
She then continued to release singles in Dutch. Her follow-up “Loop Niet Weg” with Kris Kross Amsterdam and Tino Martin became a Top 5-hit, while “Waar Ga Je Heen” became a platinum-certified Top 20-hit in the Netherlands.
In 2021, she again collaborated with Kris Kross Amsterdam on Ronnie Flex’s big comeback single “Alles Wat Ik Mis”, which became Heesters her third Top 10-hit on the Dutch official singles chart. Later that year, she crossed over to Belgium as a feature on Metejoor’s “Rendez-vous”. It became a summer hit and peaked inside the Top 5 of the Flemish Ultratop 50. She also appeared on The Masked Singer as the Crocodile.
In 2022, she continued to score hits in Belgium. Her collaboration “Zwaartekracht” with Régi became a platinum-certified Top 10-hit. She also performed on Tien Om Te Zien. The singles however failed to impact the Dutch charts in any significant way. Her 2023 duet “Dat Hadden Wij Moeten Zijn” with Belgian singer Maksim became Heesters her third Top 10-hit in the Flemish Ultratop 50.
In late 2024, Emma Heesters was diagnosed with cervical cancer and forced to stop working. Since then, she has undergone multiple treatments and hopes to go into remission soon. Inspired by those trials and hardships, Heesters wrote her own fight song “Alles Wordt Beter”. It peaked at #18 on the Dutch official Top 40.
