Biography
Esatis is a music band revolving around the idea of here and now, embracing the old Lithuanian folk traditions, language and worldview of various music genres. The band was formed in 2015 Klaipėda, Lithuania by the locally well-known ethno, electronic and experimental music author Donatas Bielkauskas (Donis) and the percussionist and drummer Viktoras Rubežas. Later the project was joined by the singer Elena Trečiokaitė, the bass player Paulius Stonkus and the guitarist Mentas Remesa.
With their brave experiments and combination of various musical styles, composers refer to themselves as performers of World music genre, which, like nothing else, holds the power to reveal the old folk musical traditions and their modern interpretation.
The band debuted at Expo 2015, a Universal Exposition, hosted by Milan (Italy), Mėnuo Juodaragis festival (Lithuania) and Suklegos festival (Kaunas, Lithuania).
The debut album Vanduo.Molis.Medis (Water.Clay.Wood) was released at the end of 2015 and introduced at Prutena festival (Vilnius, Lithuania)
