Biography

Called “a haunting artist to watch” by Rolling Stone, FJØRA is the voice & composer behind the new "Welcome to the Blumhouse" trailer series on Amazon Prime - with a chilling reimagination of Linda Perry's classic hit "What's Up?" A groundbreaking artist, producer, songwriter and composer, she coined the term "cinematronic" as her unique style. As heard in Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Season 3 trailer & Disney's "Maleficent 2" movie trailer, she reaches far beyond the "pop" genre for inspiration - growing up in Toronto, surrounded by the sounds of jazz, world music, classical compositions, and Hollywood film scores.

FJØRA was born Alexandra Petkovski. At an early age, she was classically trained in piano, then jazz. By her teens and early 20s, she was scoring films and completing her Masters of Commercial Music in Composition and Arranging at Belmont U in Nashville, TN.

After beginning pursuit of her PhD in Music Composition (Film Scoring) at NYU, FJØRA decided to focus on creating music on a songwriting, production, and compositional level within the industry.

With music heard across multiple platforms, like FOX, Disney, Freeform, Walmart, Netflix, and songs released on major labels such as Enhanced Music, Trap Nation, Universal Music, and collabs with Besomorph (“Hate Me”), Zayde Wolf & Tommee Profitt, her journey has only begun. A panelist speaker for TIFF, CMW, and member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, FJØRA is a force to be reckoned with.
