They fixed it! It was all listed as "Collision" with some Japanese tracks. Very strange.

Oh I see it was a messed up tracklist kinda like on the Beatles Abbey Road album the tracklist is of some Spanish covers of Beatles tunes.

I've always really enjoyed this one. It's tough for me to rank FNM's albums because they're all so good and I've listened to them all so much, but I certainly don't agree that The Real Thing is their weakest. But then I don't think Album of the Year is, either! I think this is a really great record with a LOT of cool songs, sort of in the KFAD mold, though not quite as crazy and varied. I hate this word when critics use it but I think it applies here... I think AOTY is more "mature" than Angel Dust and KFAD. It's been my favorite FNM disc to listen to for the past several years.

"Home Sick Home" and "Got That Feeling" are the only tracks that don't really do much for me. They're just sort of throw-aways -- not really offensively bad or anything, they just don't really have anything to recommend them above a million other songs, especially when you measure them against the best of FNM.

This in my opinion is their best album. [3] Album of the year, every year. [2]

It is strange, but this album feels simultaneously familiar and alien. Like it it was in a place I had been all along but having realized that just now? It's definitely a great album.

The Real Thing is their WORST album? Pretty sure that's the only time I've ever seen/heard anyone say that.

You should stop sitting on your ears. The Real Thing their worst album? Bold statement!

I definitely prefer it to The Real Thing. Though this does have a couple duds.

Worth owning for Stripsearch, Ashes to Ashes, Last Cup of Sorrow and Paths of Glory.

Been digging this one a lot over the past year or so. Stripsearch, Pristina, Mouth to Mouth, Last Cup of Sorrow... lots and lots of good songs on here.

I can't understand all the criticism to Jon Hudson. He did an amazing job and his playing style fitted perfectly in the band. He even had an active role on the writing process. The rest of the band played great as well (Roddy's keyboard even returned to be one of the main instruments). I don't know if it's my favorite FNM album (I think KFAD has that honor), but I still really appreciate this one.

FromSydney; I understand what you mean about Patton's vocal in this album. He had much more experience and liberty to show his true potential in this last production. BUT, i do not agree with you entirely. The Real Thing is the fucking real deal, not only commercially or publicly, It actually introduced ourselves to FNM. The Album of the Year is a great motherfucking sound, not bad at all, but is not the very best as far as I can see.

I'm going to say something extremely controversial and say that I prefer Album of the Year to The Real Thing. *Dodges spears and bullets* The Real Thing probably flows better as an album and Album of the Year doesn't have as much versatility as Angel Dust or KFAD...FFAL. It doesn't really have the same power as those two albums. But there's more songs on Album of the Year I really like than songs I like on The Real Thing. Plus I think Patton's vocals are much better on Album of the Year than The Real Thing and also the fact that he actually wrote the music unlike The Real Thing where he came in and wrote the lyrics to fit the pre-written songs in two weeks. As for people saying Album of the Year is their least favourite including the two Mosley albums, to you I say: GRRRRRR! :P

I like this a lot more than King For A Day, it's my second favourite FNM only behind Angel Dust. [2]

This album is very nice. Obviously not as good as or in the same direction as my fave albums The Real Thing and Angel Dust, but definitely an album that is very good and has some of their strongest tunes. "Pristina" is just so amazing...
