Biography
1.) Fennel is the solo project of tricot's bassist, Hiromi Hirohiro. Her first release under this name was the EP slow down, released in October of 2021.
2.) Fennel is a pseudonym of Franciscus Alex Rebro, a grad student of mathematics at UC Riverside and an amateur composer/pianist. Four Fennel recordings have been released to date, namely "A Leap Across A Chasm" (June 2010), "Relics" (March 2011), "Resuming the Trail" (October 2011 for Pocket Fields), and "Carillon Air" (April 2012 for Absence of Wax). Many styles have influenced the Fennel sound, including modern ambient music, jazz improvisation, and 20th century composition, especially impressionism. The integral element of all Fennel releases is the field recording.
