Great listen, from front to back. Present State of Grace, Cradle of Humankind and A Prayer For Me In Silence are the standouts for me.

This is definitely the sort of album that grows on you. I didn't like it so much at first, but there's some really good stuff here. It is missing some of the punch of their earlier material, but hey, bands change. I can live with that.

I have to say that lately this album is realy grown one me! But still the production realy sucks. Folk music needs lets say ... an organic sound! But this production destroys this sound (and imo since float!)

Although I will say that Ryan Hewitt's production on this album is terrible. I don't understand what happened between Float and Speed of Darkness, but I seriously hope either he goes back to the former or Flogging Molly hires a new producer for their next record, because the production almost ruins this album.

Not near as good as Float, but this album is actually growing on me. I HATED it when it was first released, but I'm coming around to it. "Saints & Sinners" is a fucking fantastic song, and there's a few others on this disc that really rock it out.

initial impression is that i am a bit disappointed in the speed. . . of darkness. wish it was a bit faster, alla some of my favorite of their songs (Seven Deadly Sins, Swagger, Queen Anne's Revenge, Devil's Dance Floor, Drunken Lullabies, Paddy's Lament). Slow songs can be okay, but i know they have faster stuff in them and would love to see it now and again.
