I haven't seen the whole series, but I love certain songs on this album very much! #4, #5, #7 and #8 being the best!

So disgraceful. It's even worse than There Is Nothing Left to Lose and Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, which is quite an accomplishment

That said, I do like the album. Not album of the year material obviously, but it's still pretty good. I dig the build-up (Something From Nothing), the blues feel song (WDID/GAMW), the atmospheric, soothing Subterranean, the uplifting anthem of I Am A River (great closer for this album by the way). Only songs that I don't care for are In The Clear and TFATF (a song that I'm slowly growing away from). Mainly for the reason that they sounded generic, and too much like your typical Foo Fighters song. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I expected more. The former has horns which could be easily handled by the guitars, and the latter is supposed to be a punk anthem, but I don't feel it at all. Sure there are moments where that happens, but they were very few and far between. Also, punk rock is known to have gang vocals. Where are they? Again, going back to the under-utilization of guest stars. Congregation is okay, nothing much I have to say other than that Zac Brown could be used a bit more.

After a couple spins, my opinion of this record have changed quite a bit. I actually agree with some of the comments here being the majority of the songs still kinda sound like Foo Fighters more than the actual cities themselves. They could have ventured out a lot more, taking more risks than just staying in their comfort zone; as well as allowing some of the guest stars to show off a bit more to let us know that they're there for a reason.

Whats the point on recording in different cities if the songs sound all the same? [4]

Apart from Something from Nothing, no song particularly stands out which makes it a rather dull listen. I don't think there's a single consistently strong Foo LP except for the debut maybe.

I think this album is damn good but I don't know if I like this more than Wasting Light, I loved the shit out of Wasting Light.

Essentially what you'd expect the Foo Fighters to sound like. Nothing mind blowing. Can't even tell it was recorded in 8 cities. No surprises with the mastering either, which like all Foo Fighters albums in the last decade is just loudness war compressed to oblivion so the music has no punch.

Basically what Amnese said. It's by no means a bad album and in parts there's little bursts of new sounds that they haven't really utilised before, almost as if they're reaching for something, but they never quite get there. It's slightly different to their previous albums, but with the whole hype about recording in 8 different cities I thought that the whole point was to put some of the city's sounds into the songs. Guess not.

Btw, in Subterranean its possible to identify Seattle, because it sounds like some of Pearl Jam worst tracks.

Whats the point on recording in different cities if the songs sound all the same? There's no Austin blues, there's no Orleans jazz, there's no Nashville country. If they remained in Seattle they would produce the same record. The songs are okay, but if you listen to it considering the whole concept, it's far away below the expectations.
