Fredl Fesl bezeichnet seine Werke als „bayrische und melankomische Lieder“, was er auch für sein viertes Album als Untertitel wählte. Sie stehen im Dialekt und wurzeln häufig in der Volksmusik, haben jedoch ausgesprochen humorvolle und hintersinnige Texte, nicht selten unter Verwendung von Wortspielen. Willy Astor steht mit seiner Komik stark in der Tradition Fesls. Fesl spielt Gitarre, Tuba, Trompete und Klavier.
