In the beginning…
The band originally formed in 2015
Vocalist Emma Wale Joined in 2016 and Gallows High was truly born

Their self titled debut EP was recorded and mixed in January 2017 by Alex Van Roose at Yellow bean Studios.

…The Clock Is Ticking with its chugging bass line and rhythmic guitars adding layer upon layer. The drums rattle coming together to hit you like a force of nature.

Nuke Juice, features heavy, chugging guitars, thundering drums and a deep, fuzzy bass line. The vocals are effortless, adding complexity and interest. Building up into a tumultuous wall of sound, this is track that pounds along at a million miles an hour.

The Band began to develop a heavier sound and later that year entered Bloodstocks Metal to the Masses competition making it to the Leicester quarter finals.

After a short break and a new bassist they put on a Halloween show at Duffy’s Bar and began booking gigs in Leicester.
In 2018 Gallows High made their first steps out of the local unsigned scene supporting Divine Chaos at Dryden street social. The band really enjoyed performing on a larger stage and playing alongside bigger acts.

Girls Rock!
A last minute drop out left the opening slot of Girls Rock! Festival open

Gallows High jumped on the opportunity to play their second ever gig outside of Leicester. The decision to make the journey up to Eleven in Stoke-on-Trent paid off, the last minute opening set of this previously unknown band caused some interest amongst those at the show and the band sold every copy of their EP.

Word began to spread and Adrian Betts invited them to support Temperance at Scruffy Murphy’s in Birmingham.
He later booked them for his “Tour of the Valkyries” shows.

…Gallows High. Stepping up and grabbed the proverbial bull by the horns. They seemed to get more energized and powerful as their set progress. Emma not only sang like a star but also looked like a star.

They returned to Metal to the Masses more experienced and made it to the Semi-Finals.

We had Gallows High blast out on stage first with a great opening of seriously chunky set of awesome riffs for us all to get stuck into. There was some really nice guitar synergy that worked well backed up by the impressive bass lines.
This was exactly the start we needed and they performed 100% all the way through their set with some decent banter and a formula for song writing the clearly works well for them, bringing out some very worthy originals for us to feast on.

Their fan-base began to grow and they have since performed at venues across the UK and supported acts such as
Alia Tempora, The Amorettes, Tony Wright (Terrorvision), Collateral, Piston, The Heretic Order.

In October 2018 they made their first London appearance at the
Four Sticks:Classic Rock Weekender.

…their sound which sways between arena-rock and classic metal with a little hint of Scandinavian symphonic thrown in has promise. The atmospheric solos sound great and they have a good, powerful back line.

Rebirth…
2019 saw a re-brand for the band and with a new logo, new songs
and a more developed sound they took on Metal to the Masses once again, this time making it all the way to the final.

M2TM Leicester FInal 2019
Meanwhile they began recording a series of new singles, the first of which “Pills” was released on the 25th of May the same day they played the Final and got their first airing on BBC Introducing.

…high energy rocker that flits between the boundaries of hard rock and melodic metal. It’s a track that’ll get any crowd bouncing and it’s easy to see why they’ve done so well in recent Metal 2 The Masses competitions.

Present…
Their latest single, the Game of thrones inspired “Dead of the Night” was released on the 25th October 2019
Gallows High are currently finishing their next single and are taking bookings for 2020

The Future…
The band always aims to progress in both their playing and live performance as well as their recording and production skills.
More recordings are planned with the hope of releasing an album in 2020/21.
