Biography
Garage Hymnal are a collaboration of professional Christian musos, committed to taking time out of their normal gigs to lead the church in worship. Originally formed as the Sydney University Evangelical Union’s 2004 annual conference band, they were quickly overwhelmed by the need for evangelical worship leaders in Sydney and started recruiting like-minded contributors to the project.
With over 50 contributors, Garage Hymnal is about bringing together musos from all sorts of denominations and from all over Sydney. In addition to a core group of musicians and songwriters, in recent months they have been blessed to be joined by Dave, Ty and Dorny from Revive, Chris from Planet of the Stereos, Tim from The Valley, Steph from The Fifth Nation, Murray and Mike from Devotion and the Doxa Music Gospel Choir from Zambia.
