Biography

Gardens may refer to one of four groups:

1. Gardens is an artpunk/garage trio based in Detroit, MI, formed in 2007/2008. The band consists of singer Jeffrey William Thomas (also of Genders), guitarist Vincent Mazzola, and drummer Julian Spradlin. Gardens has played at SXSW and many shows around the Detroit area with bands such as Charlie Slick and Vivian Girls. Thus far they have released one 7", 'In Novelty Land', on Italy Records. The group are strong proponents of "green"-living, community, and DIY, frequently posting on their website, newdetroitstyle.com.

2. Gardens is also a light, acoustic group that was formed in mid-2008 by two members of the dissolved indie/hardcore group The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree, Daniel Garza and Jay J Mattot. Their music reflects the soft sounds of their influences of "everything lovely and beautiful."

3. Gardens is and has been a solo project of Terran Reinsel. Starting the project in 2005, his styles have run the gamut from reverb-soaked keyboard grunge-pop to electronic shoegaze to poorly mixed acoustic folk. He currently lives in Brattleboro, VT and is actively looking for a collaborative relationship with like-minded musicians. He loves constructive criticism.

4. Gardens is a quartet from Vienna consisting of Luca Celine Müller, Peter Benedikt Mathis, Patrick Stieger, and Laura Keiblinger. The group gained recognition with their first two singles, "Talk" and "Waves," which were quickly catapulted into Radio FM4's annual charts, establishing their lush blend of indie pop, 60s psych-folk, and dream pop. Their debut album FLAWS has been released on November 1, 2024, via Siluh Records

5. Gardens is a DTM (Desktop Music) composer and producer, focusing on orchestral electronic music, if talking about genres: Artcore with some Neurobass/funk and J-core elements added to it (which is, in essence, modern artcore).
