«Gift of Madness» – одна из самых интересных Российских групп, играющих грув-метал. Из ряда других команд, играющих в этом стиле, они выделяются нестандартным подходом к гармонии и ритмическим рисункам. Когда группа собралась в 2003 году, ориентирами для творчества были абсолютно разные команды, начиная от «Pantera», «Korn», «Meshuggah», заканчивая «Liquid Tension Experiment» и «Vital Information». В 2006 году группа выпустила промо альбом «The Nation of Dead Gods», в поддержку которого устроила тур и отыграла около 30 концертов по России и Украине. Мощный вокал, жесткие рифы и быстрые бластбиты, приправленные ни на что не похожим почерком самих GOM, были высоко оценены критиками и публикой. Но после победоносной серии концертов из группы ушёл вокалист, и начались проблемы с составом, которые полностью решились только в 2013 году. Группа, недолго думая, довела до ума написанный материал и летом села в студию для записи альбома, релиз которого состоялся 15 января 2014 года. Название альбома «Walk and thee shall reach» - «Дорогу осилит идущий», очень символично и тесно связано с историей самой группы. По сравнению с предыдущим релизом материал стал мелодичнее, наконец появился чистый вокал, однако никуда не делась мощность и плотность звучания, являющееся визитной карточкой Gift of Madness. В этот релиз группа вложила все свои силы и эмоции, и он не оставляет никого равнодушным.
Презентация альбома состоится 15 февраля вместе с французской командой Black Bomb A, а в конце февраля намечается сверхмасштабный концерт, равных которому не было в истории Gift of Madness.
Gift of Madness is one of the most interesting modern metal bands from Moscow. They differ from similar modern metal bands with unconventional approach to harmony and rhythmics in their music. When guys started playing in 2003, reference points for their creativity were completely diverse bands, beginning with Pantera, Korn, Meshuggah and going up to Liquid Tension Experiment and Vital Information. The promo album «Nation of the Dead Gods» was released in 2006 and followed with huge tour consisting of around 30 gigs in Russia and Ukraine. Powerful vocals, heavy riffs and furious blastbeats, seasoned with original like nothing on earth GOM style, made critics to welcome the album and fans – to headbang all of it. Unfortunately, after that set of gigs band has experienced serious problems with band members. Troubles with vocalist (former member Kirill left in 2008) were solved only in 2013, and after it guys immediately began the new studio recording. New album is to be released in January, 2014. It is called «Walk and Thee Shall Reach», which definitely is very symbolic for GOM theirselves, as they came such a long road to make it. Music appears to be more melodic and tracks will contain clean vocals, too, but sound still will be same punchy and groovy as “Nation of Dead Gods” had. Guys have put all the effort and energy they've had in that release. Surely, it won't leave anybody indifferent and will become a very interesting release in 2014.
