Biography
Gisle Børge Styve Trio started in 1998 and released their first album in 2002, “Styves Ark”. This record was re-launched in Japan in 2011.
The album is recorded at a bookshop in Oslo, which is their favorite place to play. They have gigs there 30-40 times a year, to great pleasure for the employees and customers.
They also manage the time to travel around Norway playing at festivals and events. They have a constant growing fan base that always leaves the show satisfied and with a few worries less.
Gisle Børge Styve, is the vocalist and piano player. He is one of the team leaders in the music TV show “Beat for Beat” in Norway, and has been a part of the program since it‘s origin in 1999. He also has a duo with Heine Totland.
Per Willy Aaserud, plays the trumpet, melodica, chime and choir. His musical carrier started in 1991 when he started working as a performing and studio musician, mainly in jazz, pop, rock, afrocuban and different improvisation forms. He has played with several big Norwegian acts and contributed on over 100 CD-recordings.
Helge Harstad, is a freelance musician, cand.philol. at the University of Oslo with music as his major. He has also played with several different artists, among them Niko Valkeapäa, Lars Bremnes and Mari Boine. In the trio, he plays bass, choir and some more.
