Golden Dawn Arkestra is an Austin psychedelic afrobeat collective. Their name is an allusion to the Sun Ra Arkestra. Being heavily influenced by Sun Ra, the band is in the same vein, stylistically, frequently introducing costumes and an aesthetic in their performance that is reminiscent of Sun Ra's eclectic music and unorthodox lifestyle and theatrics.
The group utilizes instrumentation that includes horns, percussion, synthesizers, vibraphone, and bass clarinet.
