Biography

HARDY (Michael Wilson Hardy, born September 13, 1990, in Philadelphia, Mississippi) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for his bold fusion of country music with rock and alternative influences. Emerging first as a prolific songwriter in Nashville, HARDY penned hits for top country artists including Blake Shelton (“God’s Country”), Morgan Wallen (“Sand in My Boots”), and Florida Georgia Line (“Simple”), earning widespread acclaim and multiple industry accolades.

In 2018, he launched his solo career with the EP "This Ole Boy," followed by the collaborative "mixtape Hixtape Vol. 1" in 2019. His 2020 debut studio album, A ROCK, solidified his place as a standout voice in the country-rock landscape. The album featured the Platinum-certified hit “One Beer” (with Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson), and fan-favorite tracks like “Give Heaven Some Hell,” praised for their emotional weight and rock-forward production.

HARDY continued to push genre boundaries with "the mockingbird & THE CROW" (2023), a dual-sided concept album split between country and hard rock. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and was lauded for its bold creativity. Its standout single “wait in the truck” featuring Lainey Wilson won Collaborative Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards and received nominations at the CMA Awards and ACM Awards. Tracks like “SOLD OUT” and “JACK” introduced fans to HARDY’s heavy, distorted guitar riffs and aggressive vocal delivery, while still rooted in narrative lyricism.

In 2024, HARDY expanded further into rock with the release of his second studio rock album, "QUIT!!". The project leaned fully into alternative rock and post-grunge influences, building on the sonic experimentation of his previous work. With explosive production, introspective lyrics, and a rebellious tone, "QUIT!!" signaled HARDY’s full embrace of a genre-defying identity. Songs from the album showcased heavier instrumentation and emotional themes, cementing his role as a crossover artist reshaping the boundaries of country and rock.

Outside his solo releases, HARDY has been featured on several charting collaborations, including “Beers on Me” with Dierks Bentley and Breland — which reached No. 1 on country radio — and the satirical single “The Worst Country Song of All Time” with Brantley Gilbert and Toby Keith. In 2023, his single “TRUCK BED” went viral and became one of his most streamed tracks, further boosting his mainstream recognition.

HARDY is signed to Big Loud Records and remains one of the most innovative artists in modern American music. With a growing collection of award wins, platinum records, and genre-bending releases, he continues to redefine expectations for what a country artist can be.
