There are currently two known bands by the name of Hangatyr.
1. A neoclassical ambient project with the intent of evoking the tales of nature. A split album entitled "Vardi Elding" was released in 2007, which also featured tracks by the artists Solvarg and Kathaugnir.
2. A pagan black metal band born from the ashes of Schwarze Stille. A seven track promo CD was released in the year 2007.
