Biography

Herbie D., starting in the Appalachian hills of Virginia, with his distinct, finger style, acoustic guitar and his raspy, bluesy voice on lead vocals and the Dangermen, have grown into a high energy acoustic band that pull from many influences and genres to define their groove. Now based in the Hampton Roads area, the band continues to provide energetic and soulful music for their fans. Their original sound touches Blues, R&B and Pop genres mixed with traditional Chicago, Texas and New Orleans influences forming a funky acoustic blues style of their own. Playing both energetic originals and a bluesy twist on some of your favorite covers, their music offers something for everyone to enjoy.

The Dangermen are the soulful backbone rhythm section which includes: Art M. on saxophone (Baritone, Tenor and Alto) or flute providing dramatic horn section fills and exciting solos. Chris G on upright bass that provide a clean bottom-end thump and grooving balance to Herbie D’s rhythmic phrases; and “Sal” on drums and percussion keeping the energy moving forward and the timing tight. Together, they form a solid foundation of Rhythm and Blues that will keep you moving and entertained.
