Biography
Hobo’s Hope is a Dutch band writing and playing Folk-Rock songs. Inspired by artists like Deer Tick,
Bob Dylan, the Felice Brothers and Justin Townes Earle, they have been playing all over the Netherlands since 2009. Sounds best while drinking the cheapest beer available in your supermarket.
Featuring members of legendary local indie-noise band Missing Coins and little less legendary indie rock band the Little Review. Multi-instrumentalist GJ Schouten is the lead vocalist and guitarist. He also plays banjo and harmonica. Ruud Guldemond plays accordeon and sings backing vocals. Jan Rijnberg sits behind his “drumkit” and hits it, while sometimes singing backing vocals. Occassionally he picks up his clarinet. In 2011 they added Bas de Ron on upright bass. Live Veerle Schouten often joins on violin.

Hobo's Hope explores the relationship between postmodern discourse and multimedia experiences.
With influences as diverse as Konrad Werd and rampaging little sisters, new synergies are generated from both explicit and implicit layers.
Ever since Hobo's Hope started the members have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the human condition. But what started out as hope soon became corrupted into a cacophony of hobo's, leaving only a sense of nihilism and the chance of a new beginning.
As spatial phenomena became frozen through emergent and critical practice, the listener will be left with an insight into the possibilities of our world.
