Biography
Holy Stain take the baton and run sideways in two directions: on one hand a noisier prospect, with more distortion, on the other a band not afraid of repetition and veering into the krautrock territory.

Bands this age aren't meant to sound like this. Holy Stain take their influences and tear them apart until you don't know what the hell you are dealing with. Gargantuan guitars, seductive basslines and hide and seek vocals all come out to play, inviting you to be part of the twisted fun. Bands aren't meant to sound like this to people of most ages, but by listening to these songs you are being lavished with the most exciting sounds you will hear all year. IT'S YOUR REWARD.
- Howling Owl Records
'They’re a hard-edged young foursome, but in a deep and chest cavity-pummelling kind of way, not trebley-Strat sheer and sharp. The rhythm section groove – bass, especially – is strong, and their appeal is mass, even in an instrumental track (partly, perhaps, because it conjures the image of a slathering, slo-mo, big bounding dog). Partly like post-rock, only shorn of the technical posturing and dull/worthy breakdowns; hook-filled enough to recall stadium fillers, but with a much greater-than-the-norm depth:surface ratio. Called back for an encore, they effortlessly switch to multi-vocalled full-frontal assault and knock off a Jesus & Mary Chain cover in Ramones-like manner. Impressive'.
-Venue Magazine's review of the Harbourside Festival at Thekla
Holy Stain turned out an impressive rock show which recalled the early 90's. This band do what any young band should - pick up their guitars and make an unholy racket. Somewhere between Sonic Youth and Shoegaze, they're pretty good at it too!
