Biography

Once upon a time, 1995 to be exact, a group of friends decided to start a band for the fun of it. But, they would each play an instrument that they didn't play before. A year later this joke had taken more serious forms and that became IZJ. Punk with ska and lyrics about smoking pot and drinking beer as documented on the 7 track demotape. But that's a while ago…

In 2003 lead singer Joker left the band to travel and work in India. He was replaced by Stone E (of Stosil, Groen Als Gras), who was originally hired as a light technician.
In 2005 drummer Sticky left the band to play guitar in The Beatbusters and was replaced by Jappie J (of The Renowned, Elevator).

They have made -only- three records; two self released and the latest was released by U-Lit Records. IZJ will be recording new material for a fourth album in June 2007. When the album will be released is yet unknown.

IZJ (short for Iedereen Zóôò Jotje) were known for their energetic shows and overusage of marijuana and alcohol. They have performed also outside The Netherlands, in Belgium and France.

When Bunky B wanted to leave the band begin 2007, the rest didn't feel much for finding another replacement. "After eleven years it was time for a change," they thought. IZJ gave a final performance on July 7th 2007, in Alkmaar - their hometown.

IZJ decided to record their new songs that were created in the last line up. The last performance was documented on video, so there may be a special latest release coming up!
