Inkrument are the result of a musical pairing of Beat-making, Beat boxing extraordinaire Foz and the lyrically diverse MC - Samwise – 'Rrrare' is a hip hop album in its truest, most honest form.
What makes Samwise more compelling than the next MC is his ability to not only be able to write a sick hook – but his lyrical depth. Every verse on Rrrare gets better with repeated playings, Whether politically, socially or personally focused: the one guarantee is that he will make you listen!
Foz provides the backdrop for Samwise' flows and has been involved in music for most of his life. Former UK beatbox Champion, Foz spread his wings in to production in 2004, drawing influence from the classic generation of producers (you know who we mean). Samwise and Foz met in 2006, and Inkrument was born. Foz’s beats seem to gel perfectly with Samwise’s flows making interesting and intelligent, yet always entertaining, positive Hip Hop.
Adding DJ Dan Rattomatic to the mix polishes off the album – Rrrare is laced with the cuts from the legendary Nottingham DJ who is also the integral part of the live show. To see Inkrument live is to understand the dynamic of the group a lot more – it’s not your average hip hop show (no screw faced, cocky MC’s demanding respect for turning up) but a carefully planned out musical journey, incorporating not only the beats and rhymes, but beatboxing, guitar, scratch routines, crowd participation and energy. It further proves that Inkrument do not take their audience for granted and reflects the intensity and passion of ‘Rrrare’.
