Signal Hill is by far one of the coolest songs ever written. I love the explodingly happy feeling it gives, it's like a pure dose of serotonin. It's a shame it's not higher up on the top tracks list.

great Canadian Toronto area instrumental act! was at their first show but didnt get to watch The Human Abstract or Periphery play at that show (but I did see The Contortionist (touring exoplanet), Textures, and of course Intervals!) I have the In Time EP CD disk and its great for working on code, reading/studying, hiking, and exercising. I'm more unfamiliar with their newer releases but since writing this comment and putting a bit of thought into the band I'm likely to listen to the newer Intervals releases more now.

Agreed. Objectively it's all "good"... Just hard to distinguish one song from another.

The Shape Of Colour has to be one of the best albums I've ever had the privilege of listening to.

I agree with the guitar beeing kind of sterile. It's silky smooth. As far as the synth-resemblance goes: My guess is, it's wanted. There are riffs or fill-ins which have an intended electronic touch. "By far and Away" beeing the most obvious example. tl;dr: Yeah, it's a tad nu-jazz'y and i like it. ;)

As much as I love everything on The Shape of Colour, I think Epiphany may be the best Intervals song.

Tighter than a ducks butt! Was effectively Plintervals as it was a bit of a super group.

New album, considering Intervals is now a one man band with some talented guys backing him up, is not a bad effort in the slightest. Though I will agree, they sound definitely a lot more like Polyphia without Sastry and Guyader. Less - djenting?

The new album was a bit disappointing for me. I mean it was great, but idk it kind of sounds more like he's showing off to sound good rather than have the passion. The main leads don't have that epic feel that Duality, Momento, and Mata Hari had. Really wish more of that vibe was in this new album.

"The Shape of Colour" is a fantastic record. And i hate the 'instrumental / proggy' bands that sounds all the same TO ME, i think artists like Mestìs, Polyphia, Widek etc are for who are into the genre and for me is all technique without emotion (This is subjective folks) but this record really impresses me: pure emotion. Is like Aaron's guitar really try to speak to you with so much intensity. Beautiful.
