My favorite review from back in 2011: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1LHZCKEMOH8F4/ "I suspected that sometime in her career I was going to listen to the most beautiful sounds that ever came out of a human throat." "Once every 50 years or so there is a light lyric soprano voice that has a great richness and warmth that is usually denied to this fach. Most light lyric sopranos, however delightful, lack this quality and it limits their ability to consistently grab you by the throat or bring tears to your eyes. Or they excessively 'cover' their voices to produce a rich sound. But Jackie Evancho has (...) sung gloriously and courageously forward." "Her voice has a fullness and purity without narrowness or harshness that is at present unsurpassed by any contemporary woman singer. And she seems to be speaking to you intimately when she sings." "Jackie Evancho has built for herself in what is surely record time the most beautiful voice in the history of recorded music."

Found her so randomly about a week ago. Never felt so touched by a voice as I have with Jackie Evancho.

Wow, she has certainly grown up. :) Not in a bad way. My friend's daughter is her age -- I know it must especially be hard for a famous vocalist to transition from "child prodigy" to respected adult soprano.

Apparently she covered My Immortal (Evanescence), which is a bonus track on the Japanese version of Awakening. :P Here's a review of the first Awakening concert, which was taped to be aired as a PBS special later this year. It includes the setlist, which may or may not be indicative of what she'll be singing on tour. http://jackieevanchoadmirer.wordpress.com/2014/08/23/memories-of-the-pbs-filming-at-longwood-gardens/ The setlist also included Say Something. I hope that *isn't* permanent in the setlist. :P Another thing I love about Awakening is that there are no duets at all. Much, much, much better this way.

The album is on Spotify, or at least it's available here in the US. :) http://open.spotify.com/album/2JHYFDV5z5zLGzRMiBBKnM Aaaa. Your Love, and the original tracks Take Me There and Open Fields of Grace, have captured me maybe even more than the Memories cover, incredibly. Just perfect vessels for Jacqueline's voice. Made to Dream (which she co-wrote) is great too, as a follow-up to the Dream With Me title track. And Je T'aime and With or Without You... yeah, all of it... easily my #2 album of the year after The Quantum Enigma. ;) Though I do wish the accompaniment on With or Without You had been more like the softer, more melancholy version(s) by Scala & Kolacny Brothers. TBH I don't *need* her to do symphonic metal, but obviously I'd welcome that if she's actually a fan of more than just the ballads. :) Maybe sometime she'll be a guest vocalist for WT or a similar band. I'd go ballistic. But it had better be a song that makes better use of her voice than Paradise did Tarja's! :P

she would be great in a symphonic metal band in a couple of years, I need to hear the WT cover

You should hear her when she was eight (Prelude to a Dream) ;) Haha, I was more right than I ever guessed about the tracklist. A Within Temptation cover. I've basically been stuck in a state of IS THIS THE REAL LIFE, IS THIS JUST FANTASY for a few days now because of that. Sometimes real waking life is unbelievably amazing. Awakening is a fantastic album.

Some Music of the Movies clips have been removed from YouTube because PBS wants $100 donations for the DVD, but today there's a veritable flood of new ones. Get 'em while they last (though it seems the deletion campaign is very weak so far). :3 http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=videos&search_query=jackie+evancho%2C+this+week&search_sort=video_date_uploaded

I saw her for the first time on PBS last night. When I heard her voice and looked at the TV, my jaw just dropped. What a phenomenal voice for her age ^^
