Biography
Jake Ziah's new album “These Days Do You No Justice” has been called
“album of the year”, “one of the great ones”, “razor sharp debut” and
“fantastic”. The album has received five and six, out of six possible,
in most of the Norwegian press, and there are words of praise
everywhere the name is mentioned. They have scored music featured on
renowned films in Tromso, Berlin, and London. The album's release in
the U.S. is August 29th on Red Parlor Records, and it was released in
Norway in the spring of 2005. BIO: Born and bred in darkest Africa,
the musical search leading to "…Jake Ziah I presume…" was second
nature to Arnar Vågen. Contributor of roughly 50% of JZ's songwriting,
Arnar also sings and plays the guitar in Jake Ziah. The second half of
JZs songwriting backbone is Syvert Feed who returned from his exile in
Lebanon only to find his songwriting and singing thriving on the
experience, highly evident in songs like "Burn". He also learned
arabic. Syvert also sings and plays guitar in Jake Ziah. Ever the
virtuoso, and be it playing on goats feet, calf-skins, or regular
instruments. Kristian Husby is our very own Mr.Bones and a great
musician. Kristian plays drums in Jake Ziah. The fourth and final part
of the band is Daniel Henriksen: Having spent a year in South America
JZ figured that Daniel must have picked up a trick or two from
Col.Noriega and the likes. He was therefore hired as JZs manager.
However, being the Song & Dance Man that he is, Daniel snuck in the
back door and became a fulltime member of JZ pretty quickly. Daniel
sings backing vocals, plays harmonium organ and makes very good use of
different noiceproducing items. Influences include Tom Waits, Chris
Whitley, Bruce Springsteen, Ben Harper, Radiohead, Audioslave.
