Biography

JAMES HOPKINS, born January 1991 in Vancouver, Canada, is now a London based DJ and music producer. Getting his first taste of House music at age 17, it wasn't long before he bought his first set of turntables and learned to DJ. With a reputation for heavy, dark, underground sets, James quickly secured residencies at two of Vancouver's most popular clubs. There is no question about his work ethic and love of spending time in the studio. After his first EP was released April 2012 on Kiko Records, James has since signed over 50 tracks and done remixes for major labels such as WTF! Music, Miniaturesrec, Yellowjax Recordings, 3Desires, SDA, and Sounds R Us, just to name a few. His style is versatile with tracks ranging from upbeat groovy Tech House to dark heads down Techno. Over the last year, James's releases have been featured on many sites and found their way into top 100 charts on Beatport, Traxsource, Audiojelly, and other digital stores. His music has received support from some of the biggest names in the industry including Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Mark Knight, UMEK, Christian Varela, Sasha Carassi, Hermanez, SLAM and many more. As James's sound continues to improve and evolve, this young artist is a definite up and comer to watch out for.
