Biography
Born in Santa Fe New Mexico, Jamison A. Johnson entered the world a little different as a minority in the delivery room. After a rough childhood of discovery, artistic leanings, and discovery of his love of writing and poetry, Johnson longed to express his deep feelings in a way that poetry and words could not seem to always capture. From a dream and a prayer after his high school graduation, this artist inspired to create and express his passion began a journey that eventually led him to Seattle, WA. In college he was a part of many ensembles and music groups, but it wasn’t until he moved to Seattle in 2000, and teamed up with his college roommate, Lise Nikkole, in 2002 that he started discovering the strength in his own voice of song writing. After Lise Nikkole duo became Rain 4 Rent, his journey became solo as he separated his own style from the collaboration he once was so strongly a part of. After checking out different music options, collaborations, and session work, his own passion became voiced in the Demo acoustic album called Lost and Found in 2007, which is much like Johnson playing in your own living room with a fire crackling in the background. His playing around the Seattle area and lending his chops for non-profits and homeless shelters came to a halt when he had to deal with his own personal struggles. Re-invigorated, he arose stronger and is currently writing a soon to be anticipated sophomore release with full instrumentation and voicings. He plans to play in the area around Seattle starting Spring 2010.
