Biography
There are three artists with the name Jell.
1. A Canadian alternative rock band (active from 2002 till present)
2. A female pop vocal group (active 2005 - 2006)
3. A European Group who recorded music for Some Bizarre along with Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, The The & B Movie.
1. Jell is a Los Angeles rock band originally from Victoria BC with a sound that focuses on guitar-driven modern rock with catchy vocal hooks and clever insightful lyrics. Jell has been featured as Band of the Month on the major Vancouver radio station 99.3 The Fox. They also made the top 20 in the 2011 Fox Vancouver Seeds competition. Jell's self produced music video for their single "Out of Your Head" just won Music Video of the Year at the 2012 Vancouver Island Music Awards. They have also been featured twice as Band of the Month on the 91.3 The Zone in Victoria.
Jell have just finished recording their new EP "Where the Money Goes" which was mixed by former Moist guitarist Mark Makoway. The EP features the title track and the good times drinking song "I Just Wanna Go Home". In 2008 Jell took first place in the Coors Light Battle of the Bands in Victoria.
Over the last three years Jell has toured across Canada twice, and have opened for multi platinum Canadian band State of Shock and hair metal legends L.A. Guns. They have also toured down the west coast three times with shows at both The Whisky and The Roxy Theater in Los Angeles. Jell offers music fans a fresh new rock sound that fully entertains with original guitar riffs, poetic but to the point vocals, and an overall dramatic feel. They draw influence from bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Oasis, Our Lady Peace, Foo Fighters and Finger Eleven.
2. A female pop vocal group released a 3 song EP "Night Angel" in 2005 featuring the song "I Dare Say It Will Hurt A Little, and a version of The Star-Spangled Banner
