Biography
There are several musicians named Joel Taylor:
1) Joel Taylor is a composer/improvisor specializing in experimental and improvised music, playing the shakuhachi, suling, computer, analog synthesizers, and keyboards. He has played extensively in gamelan groups on the west coast and is deeply ensconced in free improvisation and electronic music since the early 70s. Taylor has a deep interest in microtonality and polymicrotonality, and uses many different tuning systems in his current music. He occasionally finds his way to building instruments, both acoustic and electronic, and programming computer music applications using Max/MSP/Jitter.
2) Joel Taylor is a highly talented self taught singer and guitarist. He has developed his own unique guitar style and has a natural singing voice. To add to all this he composes all his own tunes which he writes from his own personal experiences. This is Joel's first C.D. called 'The Urgency Of Calm' containing 12 tunes and we are sure this will not be his last. Joel is 25 and single.
3) Joel Taylor is an american jazz drummer who has toured or recorded with artists such as Brian Bromberg, Mike Garson, Frank Gambale.
