Biography

LANGE is the alias of Swedish musician and songwriter Johan Lange. Normally, LANGE handles the synthesizers in the post-industrial synthband Agent Side Grinder. Early 2008 they released an acclaimed debut LP on the Dutch label Enfant Terrible.

However on his solo debut, he put the side grinders and drum-machines aside, in favor of rhodes, mellow percussions, strings and smooth choirs.

"Gospel of Johnny" is a collection of ten personal, melodic pop songs with an atmospheric sound. LANGE combines traditional, acoustic songwriting with electronic elements, sweeping synthesizers and layers of angelic choirs. This results in a emotional mix of melody and harmony.

The sound is rooted in the early 70s, recalling early Paul Simon, Nick Drake or late Beatles. But also with an electronic touch that resembles Prefab Sprout or The Blue Nile.

The lyrics deal with dreams, hope and loss, often with a spiritual undertone. "Gospel of Johnny" is released during summer of 2008 on Lobotom Records.

Currently LANGE resides in Miami Beach, Florida.
