Jolly Jumpers - The Majesties of Deep Feeling
They started back in 1980 in Tyrnävä, Finland, a small rural community only a short drive from the Arctic Circle. Being one of the pioneers, and also one of the best kept secrets, of the Finnish alternative rock scene, they have achieved the status of a living legend.
Throughout their quarter century of history they have stubbornly created their very own musical brand of Finnish Americana. Styles and trends have come and gone, and along the years it has been called “swamp blues”, “tundra garage”, “alternative country” or “desert rock”. In their music you can hear echoes of the sincere spirituality of Johnny Cash; or the fragile, doomed, beauty of Velvet Underground; or the guitar thunder of Neil Young & Crazy Horse. But more than anything - it has always been and always will be unaffected and inimitable, the genuine Hometown Hi-Fi sound of Jolly Jumpers.
