Biography

Josip Motik (born 07 October 1985) is an Croatian musician, songwriter, poet and author best known for his work in legendary Kucilovina's band called "Tomislav Baricevic kvintet". His guitar playing skill is unparalleled in his hometown Kucilovina, where he has legendary status.
Currently, he pursuits his solo career. His music and texts are inspired by his deep emotional understanding of the world and people that surround him. His lyrics are often gloomy and dark, but at the same time they express much needed desire for love and freedom.

The culmination of his work came in early August of 2012 with the release of epic, 10 and half minutes long, music video for the single "Pijani Vuk" (eng. Drunken Wolf). Critics often describe it as a beautiful combination of Beatnik-style images engulfed in Weltschmerz emotions. Anger, rage and despair dancing along with love, beauty and strength.
Since the release of the single and the video, he retreated from the music scene of Kucilovina and is currently on hiatus.

Since early 2014 he started recording again and is currently releasing new music videos every couple of months. His good looks, great talent and deep emotional resonance of his work combined with high quality video producion provide very thrilling watching experience. Repeat option is used more often than not.

Josip has plans for recording full length LP, however is currently unable to because of the facts of harsh daily life and the tough commercial surrounding that favors big and popular music stars and crushes the creativity of young people who would otherwise have something to offer.

Let us hope that he will overcome those issues and that the album will see the light of the day in the coming months.
