Julian Taylor is a Canadian singer-songwriter of mixed Black Canadian and Mohawk descent. Co-founder of the rock band Staggered Crossing,Taylor records solo albums and leads the eponymous Julian Taylor Band.
Signed to Warner by the age of 19, Taylor has been lead singer of Toronto's Staggered Crossing since the age of 14. In 2003, Taylor founded Bent Penny Records – a Toronto-based indie label dedicated to independent artists.
Nominated for a Juno Awards in 2021, he won two awards in the 16th Canadian Folk Music Awards (as Solo Artist of the Year and English Songwriter of the Year).
