Biography
Justin Bzdek (born June 29, 1965 in Denver, Colorado, United States) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, poet, and writer best known for being unknown outside of Fort Collins, Colorado. Bzdek studied jazz piano under Colorado jazz standout Marc Sabatella and also plays acoustic and electric guitar, keyboards, Fender Rhodes, bass, and harmonica. Bzdek was a founding member of Fort Collins bands in the '90s and '00s, including pop-fusion acid jazz band Fatpill (with whom he recorded 'Live at the Ciao Bar' in 2005), Nomad (with Bill Thornsby, Michael Olson, and Clark Bennett), Captain's Lawg and Magic Box (with Jonathan Tiersten). He has performed around Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins since the early '90s. He has also published his poetry, short stories, and essays in literary magazines including The Mountain Gazette, Matter, Pindeldeboz, and Buzzworm.
