Kaliber 44 is a Polish hip hop band; formed in 1994 in Katowice, Poland by Piotr Łuszcz ("Magik") 1978-2000 (*) , Marcin Marten ("Abradab") and Michał Marten ("Joka") 1977-2025 (*) .
Since that time Kaliber 44 consists of only one member - Abradab.
The band has released four albums. The first album called "Księga Tajemnicza. Prolog" ("The Mysterious Book. Prologue") was released in 1996 and created a new genre - so called "hardcore psychorap".
The second album, "W 63 minuty dookoła świata" ("Around the world in 63 minutes") was released in 1998. After that, Magik left the band and started co-operation with Paktofonika.
The third album was simply called "3:44" and was released in 2000 then they came back with Ułamek Tarcia in 2016 (16 years after 3:44) . In the winter of 2000 Magik committed suicide.
Since then Kaliber 44 didn't release any new albums, but the crew is still active. Abradab started a successful solo career, with two albums already released ("Czerwony album" / "Red album" in 2004 and "Emisja spalin" / "Exhausts emission" in 2005). Joka had gone to the USA for a long time and after his comeback, he appeared as a guest on some of Abra dAb's tracks ("Rap to nie zabawa już" / "Rap's not just fun anymore").
Joka died on 02.05.2025 from unknown causes. (Unofficially its said that it couldve been a suicide)
