"Family Business" is a song by American musician and producer Kanye West. It was released on February 10, 2004 on his debut studio album, The College Dropout. Written and produced by West, the song features a melancholic piano motif, boom-bap drums, and a gospel choir-sung chorus. The lyrics deal with the struggles and joys of a large family, and all the memories that are cherished by members as time passes by. When West struggled to come up with specific family scenarios to fill 3 whole verses, background vocalist Tarrey Torae (whose vocals are prominently featured in the outro) provided stories of her childhood, which West adapted into rhymes and formed into fully fleshed out verses.

The song received positive reviews from critics, and is now considered an overlooked gem on the album and in Kanye's discography as a whole.
