Biography
Kate Mann (originally from the Sandia Mountains in New Mexico) is an American musician currently based in Taos, New Mexico. She also performs in a duo with cellist Mark Dudrow and records as Mark Dudrow & Kate Mann.
A former high-school teacher, Mann began her music career in 2005. She traded in her car for a van, overhauled her mother’s classic 1963 Gibson steel–string acoustic, and started playing coffeehouses, dive bars, and farmers’ markets.
Mann released her debut album, November Songs, in 2005. The album is a live recording done in a single weekend accompanied by Bernardo Gomez (McKinley, Latin Quarter) on upright bass.
Mann's second album, Devils Rope, was released in 2007.
Subsequent albums include "Things Look Different When the Sun Goes Down" (2008), "Rattlesnakes on the Road" (2012),
As well as solo albums, she performs in a duo with cellist Mark Dudrow and records as Mark Dudrow & Kate Mann.
