Kene is a singer and songwriter from Estonia. Her music is written together with producer Ervin Trofimov from post-rock outfit Opium Flirt.
Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves called Kene`s music as a noir alternative that meets finno-ugric joik chant. Many critics and melomans say that it is like Pj Harvey doing collaboration with Patty Smith .
She describer her music as gloomy and dazzling. It`s a mixture of many genres, most distinctive elements are from pop and folk. She likes to call it dark-pop.
Kene has done many different projects before, like: punk-rock band Depoo (2003-2007); electronical-pop band Mimicry (2006-2012); collaborations with many artist from Estonia (Genka, Kali Briis etc).
Over the last ten years she has had many concerts in all big festivals in Estonia, including Tallinn Music Week, Eurovision finals and Estonian Pop Idols finals, winning hearts as one of the most unique performer. Her gigs abroad: England, Denmark, Finland, Latvia (Positivus festival, Summer Sound), Lithuania.
Kene is a solo project, started after leaving the Mimicry in 2012 to focus more on her own songs. She started working together with Ervin Trofimov, who gladly joined as a producer. They have released three songs and three videos in 2013.
Her EP was released June 3th 2014.
